How To Create a YouTube Intro

Howfinity Jul 10

Here’s a quick logo sting tutorial, including a few quick tips on how to create a YouTube intro. This, of course, could go beyond YouTube videos and into other video production work.

Logo stings are a great way to catch your audience’s attention and then show them the production value of your videos. Therefore, learning how to create professional logo stings is now a super useful video production skill.

There are two approaches you can take. The first is the professional way in which you can do it all by yourself, and the other is to hire someone on Fiver, which can cost as little as $5

Option 1: The (DIY) Professional Way

The first method is to make a YouTube intro using Adobe Premiere. It has a free 7-day trial that you can use. I use it for all my professional video editing work, and I have used it to create over 500 YouTube videos.

Note that you don’t have to make a YouTube intro from scratch. You can use VideoHive, where you can get templates for Adobe Premiere.

Here’s a quick guide on how to make a free YouTube intro using Adobe Premiere:

First, download and set up Adobe Premiere free trial on your computer. Then click on the VideoHive link, and it should take you to the logo stings page.

You will see a lot of variations on logo stings. Select one and download it to start the process of animating it. However, you need a software application to animate these templates. The most common industry standard is Adobe After Effects, but it may be too complicated for you if you are just starting out. Instead, I recommend Adobe Premiere Pro, which also has professional logo stings.

Before you purchase your template, check out more information about it and see if it will work for you. Ensure you select a template that says ‘Adobe Premiere only and no After Effects.’ If you don’t like the recommended music or if it doesn’t have music at all, go to the Envato Market place where you can find everything you need for your template.

How to Make A free YouTube Intro with Adobe Premiere

Download your template on your computer and open the ZIP file. It should have several files, including a help file that will guide you on how to use the file. Open the Adobe Premiere file and it will take you to the editing page.

You should see your final sequence 1-3 already open in your timeline, your video files V1 through V4, and your audio. Click the final sequence 2 and press play to see the animation and decide what you want to change. Go to the project bin on the left-hand side and click on any of the elements you want to change.

For instance, if you want to edit your text, click on the ‘Edit’ option on the dropdown menu, double click on the ‘tagline’ or the ‘search text.’ You will get a text window where you could type in your text. Do the same for the tagline.

To add your logo, click on the logo option to open another sequence on your timeline. Double-click on a blank area of your project bin on the left, and it will open a file explorer window where you could find your logo and press ‘Import’ to add it to your project bin on the left. You can then drag it across to your timeline

To add audio, go back to Videohive and select Audio jungle. Click on ‘Logo and Indents’ and select ‘Popular items.’ Press play on the ones that are closer to your desired length. Pick the one that suits your animation and download and purchase it in the same way you did with the template.

Finally

When you have made all the necessary edits, go to the File menu, then Export, then Media. Select your format, your preset YouTube format (1080p, 4K, etc.), and the width of your video, then press Export.

Open the file to watch and see if it’s exactly what you want. And that’s the simple process of how to make an animated YouTube intro. You can now drag it into any of your YouTube video files.

Option 2: Fiverr

If you don’t want to go through a logo sting tutorial or learn how to make a YouTube intro, you could hire someone to do it for you for even as low as $5, depending on what you need.

Go to Fiverr.com, where you will see people who have already created logo animations and which you can purchase so that you won’t have to do everything from scratch. You can also find people to create your logo if you don’t have one.

Conclusion

Animated intros help boost the professionalism of your YouTube videos. I recommend having a 3-5 seconds intro at the beginning of your YouTube videos to help them stand out among thousands of other videos on the platform.
