Twitter has come a long way since its inception in 2006. Create a Twitter Account

The first step to using Twitter is to create an account. This will allow you to post tweets, interact with other users, and build your Twitter presence. To create a Twitter account, simply head over to Twitter.com and sign up using your email address or phone number.

Once you’ve created your account, you can customize your profile by adding a profile picture and bio, specifying your interests, and following other users based on recommendations.

Explore Twitter

When you land on the home page of the Twitter app, you will see two sides – the “For You” side and the “Following” side. The “For You” side displays Twitter’s recommendations based on your activity and interests. The “Following” side displays tweets from the people and companies you follow.

With each tweet you come across, you have various options – like the tweet, comment on it, reply to it, or share it (which is called a retweet). You can also direct message the tweet to someone else.

If you haven’t followed anyone yet, this is a great opportunity to do so.

Follow Accounts

To make the most of Twitter, you’ll want to follow accounts that interest you. You can find these accounts through recommendations, the explore page, or by searching for specific users using the search function.

Compose Your Own Tweet

Sharing your thoughts on Twitter is easy. Simply go to the home page, write your tweet (which can be up to 280 characters long), and press the tweet button. You can also use hashtags and @mentions in your tweets.

Sharing Photos, Videos, and Polls

Twitter allows you to share not just text but also photos and videos in your tweets. The process of sharing photos and videos is similar to that of sharing a text tweet. You can also create polls on Twitter, allowing your followers to weigh in on specific topics.

Understanding Your Profile Page

Your profile page on Twitter showcases your bio, your following and followers count, and all your tweets and retweets in one place. You can edit your profile from this page.

Direct Messaging on Twitter

Twitter has a direct messaging feature that allows you to privately message other users on the platform. To do this, simply navigate to the direct message option and select the user you want to message. Note that the user must have this option selected on their account.

Unfollowing, Muting, or Blocking Accounts

If you don’t want to see tweets from a certain account, you have three options – unfollow, mute, or block them. Just click the three dots on their tweet to access these options.

Customizing your Twitter Experience

Twitter gives you the option to switch between light mode and dark mode and even adjust the colors and font size in the settings menu.

Twitter Blue

For those who want even more features, Twitter has a premium version called Twitter Blue. This allows you to edit your tweets after posting and upload longer videos. It’s a monthly subscription.

And that’s it! With these simple steps, you’ll be a Twitter pro in no time.
