How To Create and Share YouTube Clips

Howfinity Jul 12

YouTube has a new option called clips now. It lets you clip 5 seconds to 60 seconds of someone else’s video. Thus, you can share just that specific section rather than the whole video. This is a useful feature but still quite limited.
This option is now available with just a few channels, but it might be available with many other channels in the future. So, it is a limited release now. At present channels like The Futur and Netflix have it now.
To see how it works, check The Futur and click one of the videos.

How To Create and Share YouTube Clips

You will notice that ‘Clip’ is activated on the channel.
Press the option ‘Clip’ and it will let you pick a section to share.

You can choose the clip size – you can shrink it to 5 seconds or stretch it to 59 seconds. You can share a clip from any part of the video – from the beginning, the middle section, or the end.
You need to scroll up and give it a title. The share option is not available till you give it a title and then you can share the clip.

You can copy the YouTube link and share it on different platforms. You will be able to see that specific portion of the video.
You can promote the channel on different social media channels like Facebook and Twitter.
Note: You will not be uploading the clip to your own channel. You will be just creating a new URL that you can share with different people. The link can be shared in the comments section.
The clip will also be available to you in the ‘Your Clips’ section.

You can again share this clip anytime in the future or even keep it as a reference.

Conclusion
Though this feature is not available to all, it is expected that it will be available for all in the future.
