How to Edit YouTube Videos After Upload

Do you know that users can edit videos on YouTube after uploading, without taking them down for editing?

To do the editing, go to YouTube Creator Studio, go to the content tab and select the video you wish to edit.

Next, you need to press ‘Editor’. On clicking the editor tab, you will be able to see the video, and down below, you will be able to see the timeline.

You will have your video timeline and the audio timeline as well.

How To Trim a Video

If you press the trim option, you will get a different layout. You will get a blue line on top of the video. You will also get a dark blue line at the beginning and the end. So, suppose you wish to edit the beginning (for example, you decide that the video should start a little later), you need to pull the arrow to the section and stop it where you wish to end it. When you do this, the highlighted portion gets edited out.

Thus, the video starts later from where you want it to start. Once done, you can press preview to see the changes. If you are happy with the changes, you can press save and the changes will reflect online. In case you are not happy with the changes, you can discard the changes.

You can edit the end of the video in the same way. If you wish to edit out the ending, you need to pull the editing arrow to the left.

 

If you wish to edit something in the middle of the video, you can press trim and come to the section in the mid of the video. You will then press the ‘split’ option that is right down the video. When you click the split option you will get the blue line, which you can then drag for editing. The selected section will be taken out of the video.

 

You can also revert to the original video when you press the three dots on the right side.

When you make changes in any video, it takes time to show the changes online. In case there is an emergency, and you wish to blur something (for instance if you have left your phone number), you can use the blur option and delist the video.
