with iOS 14 and OS 14 for iPad, you can customize your home screen using Widgets. A lot of apps have their own widget and Apple has a family of widgets. But if you want customizable widgets, you'll need an app called Widgetsmith.

Widgetsmith app allows you to add and custom widgets for iPhone or iPad and it's pretty easy to use. The app has three sections for small, medium, and large widgets. You can add several widgets for each size widget and customize each.

Most widgets are free, but a few require a paid upgrade of the Widgetsmith app. To add a widget on iPhone or iPad in iOS14, just press and hold on an empty section of your home page until you see a plus sign on the top left of the screen.

Click that and choose Widgetsmith at the bottom of the page. You can choose any size Widgetsmith widget that you customized in the app and add it to your home page and move it around. You can mix and match different size widgets for the best results.
