How To Take Screenshots On Mac
In this quick tech how-to video, I’m going to show you how to take screenshots in Mac OS on your Apple computer.
First, go to Spotlight and search for Screenshot.
A quick tip here and one that I use is you can also just type Grab, and it will return the same result.
Once the Screenshot is open, it will default to the last option you used. Mine here is Capture Selected Portion. That allows you to take a screenshot of just the area you want.
The other options are to Capture Selected Window and Capture Entire Screen.
There are also 2 options allowing for screen recordings, but we’ll go over those in another video.
The next section allows you to change the Options. I usually set this and forget it, leaving the Save location on the Desktop, the Timer to none, and default on the rest of the options.
Finally, hit Capture and it takes the screenshot, saving it to your destination you set.
One feature I also use often is changing the Save To from Desktop to Clipboard. This feature is great if you’re working inside of a graphics program or text document and you want to snap something and paste it in.
To speed things up, there are also 3 quick shortcuts for Screenshots.
The first is pressing Command Shift 3, to capture the entire screen.
Command Shift 4 will bring up a crosshair that will then allow you to capture a portion of your screen.
And finally, Command Shift 4 and then pressing the Spacebar will allow you to capture a specific application window.
And it's that simple to take screenshots in Mac OS on your Apple computer (Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, iMac, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro.) Thank you for watching! Please like and subscribe, and stay tuned for more quick tech how-to videos.
