How To Make Your Facebook Page Private
In this quick tech how-to video, I’m going to show you how to make your Facebook account page completely private using your phone.
To get started, open the Facebook app. At the bottom right of the homepage, tap the 3 line menu button.
On the next Menu page here, scroll down until you see Settings and Privacy and hit the arrow on the right to expand the dropdown menu. Next select Privacy Shortcuts.
There are links to all of the privacy settings for Facebook. You can go through some of these settings and adjust to your preference, but what we’re looking for today is in the top Privacy section here, under Review a few important privacy settings.
Select that and you will get a Privacy Checkup page. Here you can go one by one through the checklist and turn your account private.
Under Who Can See What You Share, you can adjust your Profile and Sharing preferences.
Go through the dropdown options on the right and change the settings to Only Me.
Click Next on the bottom right when you’re finished to get to the Posts and Stories section. Change these settings to either only me or a friends list.
On the next screen, you can add certain people to a Blocked List. Tap Next and you’re all set for that section.
The other section that you may want to take a look at is under How People Can Find You On Facebook.
This section will hide your profile from people looking you up through friend requests, or by your phone number or email, or by doing general searches. Click Continue and change who can send friend requests to only friends of friends.
On the next page change both settings to Only Me.
Finally, on the last page, turn off the option for search engines outside of Facebook to link to your profile.
And it’s that easy to change some settings to make your Facebook account page private.
