How to get 100 subscribers on YouTube - Top 5 practical techniques
Hey everyone. In today's YouTube video, I wanted to show you tactical ways to get there to a hundred subscribers and do it as fast as you can. Now, growing on YouTube is a marathon. This is just to get to a hundred subscribers because I know how hard it is to get to a hundred subscribers when you're first starting out or you're stuck, or maybe it's just your first week on YouTube.
I'll show you some super tactical ways to do it and I post YouTube training videos on this channel every single week, how-to videos on YouTube. So make sure you subscribe and follow these tactical ways to get to a hundred subscribers. So if you research this a bunch of big YouTubers that teach you how to grow on YouTube will tell you a few things.
They'll tell you to be persistent, to be patient upload daily and never give up and grind and keep improving. All great advice, but it's not tactical. What do you do with that? What do you do right now? Where do I go to give views? Where do I go to get subscribers? Let me show you that. Let's do some of the fundamentals of getting our channel really nice and clean.
Then we'll jump into some of the tactical things that will get you views and subscribers right now. First, is first let's talk about equipment. You have to at least make a video. Before you go through all this. I want to show you the upload process of doing the video. Some of the tactical things that you could do with title, description, thumbnails, and things like that real quick and then I'm going to show you some pages where you could give views and subscribers and easier way and we'll show you that as tight as we can in this video, in the description, I'm making a much broader training course, tens of hours of training for YouTube. So check that out when it's available and I'll make videos on how to get a thousand, 10,000, and a hundred thousand subscribers.
So just real quick, let me just talk about equipment for two seconds and then we'll jump into the computer. So what I use to get started for my first 100 videos is this mic that's less than 50 bucks. So I just did screen captures. I did upgrade to an iMac where I could do 4k screen captures. That was the biggest investment I made, but you don't obviously have to do that.
I had a camera where I used was my phone. I didn't use this fancy camera for a long time, but now I have a bunch of cameras. Like here's a $5,000 camera I use from the time at the time that it records in 4k. Well, your phone is totally fine just make sure your sound is crisp. You're starting out. You could do screen recording and use this mic. I got two 10,000 subscribers like that and never record a single video number, which showed my face. I just did it this way. So that's an easy way to grow. If you don't want to invest too much in equipment, I'll put a link to this mic under 50 bucks great for screen recording, even for on camera, use your phone to record.
If you don't want to invest in the camera right now and that's how you would get started with YouTube without really much investment in equipment. Next, let's look at actually making our channel presentable. So that's how you make a video. Again, we'll talk about that much later, but let's jump into a computer and I want to show you a brief overview of how to get your channel looking right? So on your YouTube channel, there are three things that you must do. One is you have to have a really nice channel banner. If you do not have this, it's really going to hurt you getting subscribers. So the channel banner has to look really nice.
It has to have the name of your channel and a really clear way of what you do and maybe a schedule. So here. I want to teach you how to really get good at social media and tech. So that's what I put as my channel banner a little bit broad, maybe when you're starting out, social media would be the only thing I did all of the things at the same time.
That's a mistake that I learned over time. So I narrowed it down and new videos every single day. That's what I do. Maybe you do new videos every week. Put that there a call to subscription. That's what a channel banner should look like. Let me just show you a different channel banner on one of my other accounts here that I just started.
So here's the brand new YouTube channel that I haven't spent too much time on. Let me go to that banner here and hear the same thing. What is this all about the app of the day? So the iPhone app of the day is what I make videos about on this channel. Big call to subscribe. I still haven't found a way to put where I put my video schedule here.
Well, at this time on this channel, it's going to be three times a week. So I want to make sure to say, Hey, you want to show what you look like? So these are what my videos actually look like here. It's a green-screen head to toe with the iPhone right next to me as I walk you through it. So that's kind of my gimmick on this channel, but I walk you through every app of the day video and make how to, again, this is part of all the how affinity channels that I make videos for.
So there's your channel banner? I have complete videos on how to make this. In fact, I show you how to make this exact same one. This one I just bought, I think for five bucks and then go ahead and edit it in photos. Then you have your profile icon. So you see this icon here. What's your channel about the app of the day, my case.
So I want to show pictures of apps. It has to be very much representative of what your channel is about. Have this be catchy and say, well, your channel does visually app of the day, the name of your channel. So I just joined my other channel is called how affinity it's a, how to channel, but it's not very clear.
So it took me much longer to grow app of the day. Literally tells you what it is. You could change this anytime later, don't worry. You don't have to brand yourself. Just say what your channel is. Is it a gaming channel, name, Fortnite gaming, or whatever you're making videos about? If it's a beauty channel, call it your name, beauty, daily beauty, whatever it's gotta be in the name.
It's gotta be simple. So those are the three things channel banner. The Channel icon and channel name do have to be consistent. You cannot move forward until you get those three things right. I came across YouTube channels every single day when I started where the resolution of the channel banner was just horrible.
So now every single channel that I make even channels that haven't had time to really grow. I just make sure they have a very clear name for them. The icon represents what they do. The banner represents what they do. Again, these are some of the things that I learned much later. So this is still called Howfinity eats.
Maybe it should be called healthy recipes every week. Something really straightforward. So make sure you get that right. Those three things, and then you could customize your channel. So it actually is organized, but this is much later. This is probably after the point of getting to a hundred subscribers.
So if you look at my channel, my about page is very clear. My schedule is very clear my videos are very clear. Everything. Isn't organized inside a playlist, but let's not worry about that right now. You don't have to do these things to get to a hundred subscribers. The three things are the banner channel icon and channel name.
Let's move on. So we're in the upload option of posting a video to YouTube, and there are some things you got to do here. So let me show you some of those things that you got to do, one is always put, shared this video, and the link to the video in your description. I got the link from here. So I just copied the link and put it here and this is in every single description I have people actually do share it using this link and you want to put a subscribe option here, also the URL for hafencity.com here that I put to send people there. You don't want to actually do this to get your first hundred or thousand subscribers. I only started putting this after I had 10,000 subscribers.
Going outside of YouTube YouTube is actually a bad sign. So don't put any website besides a call to action to subscribe to your channel nothing else. The next thing you want to do is you got to learn tags. You got to have the best tags and the way I found tags. Is this plugin called TubeBuddy, I'll put a link in the description for it?
This is just a free version here, but I have an upgraded paid account too, which is super useful is probably the best investment I ever made on YouTube and it's not very much at all. So that is really the number one way to rank my videos on YouTube is using these relevant tags by basically flooring my keyboard here and it's going to tell me if I have a good chance at getting ranked or if I don't, it's that simple. I use this and if I want to make a video title, Facebook is not going to rank poor. I'm not even going to touch it, but it's going to give me some related things. So much information here. I'll make it.
Full tutorial about TubeBuddy, and I'll leave that in the description, but this is one of my superpowers here of ranking videos and you don't want to publish the moment the upload is done give it a little bit of time. The resolution is not going to be great, especially if you do 10 ADP. So you want to go ahead on their public and do a schedule and do half-hour from now, for example, instead of just rushing to press publish up here and you want to do a playlist, make sure all your videos, the same topic or inside a playlist, as you could see, I have a ton of different playlist. I make a lot of different how-to videos on this channel on tech. So this is all the different playlists I have here, but every time you make a playlist, it makes a new URL.
YouTube sees it as a new page, and it's a great way to keep up with it. Continuously feeding content to YouTube and on the bottom again, make sure you use a custom thumbnail. So in this case, I'm going to upload my custom profile. Again, I have videos on how to turn this on and they will update in a second here, right there.
This is so much better and so much more clickable than the previous one that YouTube recommended where you have no idea what the video's about. So the custom one is a must-have and if you come here to buddy gives you a ton of options here and screen cards. Subtitles best practices. Those are all part of the TwoBuddy.
Even the checklist here is all set up through two buddies. So if your YouTube Tableau page doesn't look like mine, you just got to get TubeBuddy and everything else I mentioned on this page will help your video rank and after you get your channel set up, we're going to use YouTube itself to grow after this.
I'll show you some stuff on Reddit and Facebook, but right now on YouTube. This is a really powerful method. Check this out, go to a channel. That's like your channel, but much bigger. For example, this channel has 8 million subscribers. You might be too big, but it will get my point across. Go to videos here on this channel and what you want to do is you want to leave valuable comments on the video. Look at this video already has 4 million views on the first day. So let me go ahead and click this video. So we want to leave a valuable comment, do not ask for subs. Do not say something useless watch the video. What you take away from it.
Maybe a quick summary, maybe a clever comment. We're not just going to go here and dump. This is going to get lost into 20,000 comments. So let's forget this video. What we want to do is we want to subscribe to this channel and then we want to press this bell icon. Now, every time Marcus uploads a new video, I'm going to get notified.
When I get notified, I want to quickly come to watch the video, even go over here and watch it two times. Speed. So I could get the value quickly. Come here and leave a comment. A good comment okay. Because sometimes comments like this get 240 thumbs up. If your channel name is right, like Apple today, and people like this kind of stuff here on this tech channel, they'll click it.
Your profile icon is right. They'll click it and they'll come to your channel. This is an insane way to grow any works every time if you do it right. If you say sub to my channel, Let me get a view, something like this, you're wasting your time. Don't even worry about doing that. To find channels that are like this, obviously, this is number one, trending on YouTube at the moment.
You're never going to get found in the comment section, find channels that have a hundred thousand or up to a million subscribers that are in your niche comment. After you subscribe and press the notification icon. If your niche is like any of my, how-to channels, do it to my channels, do the same exact thing.
It will work for you long-term and I recommend you do this for about a month or two. Again, after you get to a hundred subs, you should really focus on your content and your video, and don't waste time doing things like this. This is just to get you past a hurdle, up to a hundred or even a thousand subs, the hardest things to do on YouTube.
Now, I get almost two, 300 subs every single day, and I don't do it. Any of this stuff. I only worry about making good content. That's all I do every single day and I make sure I keep up with daily uploading okay. I saved the best for last. This is an easy way to get subscribers after you get the main stuff in play.
So make sure you already have those things. Make sure you have at least one or two videos uploaded even more than that and then this is the next step. We're going to go to facebook.com and we're going to join some groups. I already did the work for you. And I have in the description, three of my favorite groups, simply go to those groups here and go ahead and join the group, answer their question and look at this 54,000 members here are looking to grow just like you. So look at them, asking for subscribers, do not do self for sub. If you see these, ignore them, but this is what you want to do. You want to come on this channel and you want to go to discussions and you want to give valuable feedback to everyone that's asking for views or subs, and then they will ask you to do a link drop, and then they will view your video and I will get subs again. This is not a long-term strategy, but just a strategy to get to a hundred subs. Make sure you comment and just don't go ahead and drop your link here. The more valuable you are when people are talking about something more specific, the better those views and subscribers are going to be.
Sub for a sub is not a thing to do here. Please do not do it. I've seen destroy channels. You will get you to 100 subs and that's it. You will destroy your channel after that. YouTube will never recommend you do not do it and the last thing I wanted to show you is Reddit. Reddit is a secret, superpower platform.
That lets you grow on YouTube and he could really blow up your YouTube channel to a hundred and 1,010 thousand subscribers. I use it to this day to get views. It's incredible, but it's really difficult to use because Reddit is not for self-promotion. So you got to find a creative way. To basically ask for feedback and review other people's channels.
So again, in the link below, I will put my favorite three Reddit channels. This one small YouTube channel right here. This red is really awesome. Subscribe to it. If you don't have a Reddit account, make one, but you have to be active on Reddit. You have to show value and you can just link dump, and hope to get people to subscribe to you.
That's not how Reddit works, but if you use it correctly, you will get some superpowers out of Reddit, some great views, some great subscribers, long-lasting, and it will shoot you beyond a hundred subscribers. So click all those Reddit links joined them, grow on Reddit, give value, and eventually, people will watch your videos.
I grew every single channel and every YouTube channel I ever helped using the Facebook and Reddit technique and there's this other website that I own, half affinity.com. So if you make how-to videos, if you get on this website, it will significantly help your YouTube views. So what I do is after I'm done uploading a video here I come over here, I press upload after I created an account and I use my YouTube link here and I'll put in the title, the description, the duration, and that way.
This website gets me views right onto my YouTube videos. So this is a way to give users early Leon. Although the people that review the videos on this website only accept less than 1% of the video. So it's super hard to get on here, but if you do get on here, it will give you a significant increase in your views.
So I recommend you at least training or checking out some of the videos on here, but these are just how-to videos on tech and social media. If that's the kind of video you make. This is kind of the right place for you to try to upload your videos to, if not, I wouldn't worry about it right now. Your videos will most likely get rejected, but it's also another cool way to learn about YouTube and I post YouTube and Instagram and all kinds of videos on social media here every single day as well.
So I hope those tactical ways got you some subscribers again, don't do self for self or your channel's going to be destroyed. Check out the description, check out all the links as you get to grow to 1,010 thousand subscribers. Watch those videos learn more about those tactics. This should get you to a hundred subs with a little patient, maybe a month or two of consistency.
You should get to a hundred subs without a problem. If you follow some of these, and I hope to catch you on the next video to 10,000, a hundred thousand, or even a million subs catch you next time.
