Do you find it hard to paint your nails perfectly? When it comes to painting your nails, getting a professional manicure at a salon is a good idea. However, painting your nails by yourself is a smarter way to save money and you’ll have the freedom to change its color anytime you want.

With these tips and tricks on how to paint your nails, you can give yourself a salon-quality manicure.

1. Remove Any Old Polish
Using a cotton ball, dip it in acetone-based nail polish remover. Use the saturated cotton ball to rub onto your nails.

2. Shaping Your Nails
Clip and file your nails to the desired shape and clean it off using a nail brush.

3. Prep Your Nails
Apply your base coat in smooth, even strokes to avoid damaging your nails.

4. Nail Painting
When painting, place your brush onto the nail a few millimeters away from the cuticle and carefully push the brush up towards the cuticle, leaving a small gap. Now, stroke the brush downwards to cover the entire middle portion of the nail. Then, go back to the base and swipe the polish along the curve of the nail and do the same thing on the other side. If necessary, apply a second coat to increase the opacity.

5. Finishing Touch
Apply a layer of quick-drying top coat to each nail to give a glossy, smooth finish.

TIPS: When painting with your other hand, place your hand into position. Next, you’ll need to find the right structure. Try holding the brush between your thumb and against the side of your index finger, and lean your middle finger against it for some extra support.

have you ever wanted to be able to paint
your nails perfectly while you clicked
on the right video because today I’m
going to show you how to do just that
I’m going to walk you through the steps
of painting your nails perfectly and
give you my tips and tricks to a neater
and long-lasting manicure so let’s get
started the first step is to use a
cotton ball and nail polish remover to
remove any old polish and oils next
choose the color you’d like to use for
your mani if it’s an old bottle like
this one you may need to add in some
nail polish thinner to change the
consistency back to thin from thick
today I’m using Renu from Zoya and I’m
adding in a few drops
once that’s done roll the Polish bottle
between your hands to mix the thinner
with the Polish let’s begin the nail
painting start with a layer of base coat
this will help protect your natural
nails from staining and anchor the
Polish onto your nail next open the
bottle of colored polish and wipe one
side of the brush off using the neck of
the bottle then lightly tap the other
side of the brush on the neck to reduce
the amount of polish on the brush this
is how your brush should look before
applying the Polish when painting place
your brush onto the nail a few
millimeters away from your cuticle and
push the brush up a millimeter too
neatly get close to your cuticle without
getting polish on your skin then stroke
the brush downwards to cover the entire
middle portion of the nail the next
stroke will start where the first one
did but it will curve to match the shape
of your cuticle and then stroke
downwards do the same thing on the other
side
you will most likely need a second coat
of polish to increase the opacity this
means that the color will be more solid
some tips for painting with the other
hand would be to keep both hands rested
on the table and to maneuver your
dominant hand that you’re painting as
much as possible instead of your
non-dominant hand with the brush another
technique that you could try is to pull
your dominant hand away from the brush
to cover it in Polish and just keep your
non-dominant hand with the brush
completely still for the next step
you’re going to need a small flat
paintbrush with a rounded top pour some
nail polish remover into a little
container here I’m using the cap and dip
your brush into it then dab the brush
onto a paper towel to remove excess
liquid use the brush to create a thin
even bare line between your cuticle and
the Polish this will give you a mani a
clean and tidy look as if you got your
nails done at a salon the next step is
to use a fast drying top coat this will
quickly seal in your polish and it will
even out the surface it will also add a
beautiful shine to your nails and keep
your mani lasting as long as possible
the final step is to add some cuticle
oil to your cuticles to restore the
moisture this is especially important if
the polish remover you are using
contained acetone as that will dry out
your cuticles having moisturized
cuticles will give your mani a clean and
healthy look and it will help to reduce
hang nails and that’s it with a little
practice you’ll be doing perfect
manicures at home in no time I hope you
enjoyed this video take care and I’ll
see you next time
